Help for the Homeless Logo

This year, all AASD schools will be participating in the annual Fox Cities “Help for the Homeless” hygiene drive. Schools will be collecting NEW hygiene and cleaning items between February 23 and March 13, 2026. Please send your donations to school with your student, or drop them off in the collection box located at your student’s school.

Board Approves Spring Operational Referendum

The Board of Education recently voted unanimously to place an operational referendum on the April 7, 2026, ballot. The estimated tax rate impact is $0.15 per $1,000 of property value—about $15 per year on a $100,000 home, or $45 per year on the average Appleton area home ($300,000).

When severe weather conditions arise, the Appleton Area School District follows a well-defined process to determine school closures. Our primary goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Valley Transit Ad

Beginning this school year, Valley Transit is transitioning to a new fare collection system. While AASD middle and high school students will continue to ride Valley Transit buses for free, student ID cards will no longer be accepted as fare. 

To ensure a smooth transition, there will be a grace period during the first several weeks of school. During this time, students will still be allowed to ride Valley Transit without a card or app, giving everyone a chance to get signed up and ready
